How is writing your book going? @abbied__
Andi Dorfman told me that you will never feel like your book is perfect when you finally complete it. Well, the book is complete, and she is right, I do not feel like it is perfect, but it is me. There are so many things that I want to tell you all in an honest and vulnerable way, but I also want to respect the privacy of the individuals I discuss. It was impossible for me to fit everything in the book, but I believe I pulled out the best parts of my story that I hope you can relate to. The purpose in writing the book was to talk to my teenage/twenty-year old self and say the things I wish I would have known at that time. Writing this book has been therapeutic for me and making the audio of the book has been particularly healing. It is one thing to write about experiences and feelings but another feeling to express them. There were times in recording the audiobook that I broke down and had to take a break. Hearing myself go through certain struggles, feelings of insecurity and loss of self-worth were tough to admit. Those emotions are written but conveyed in the audio. I will talk more about the book as we get closer to that date but just know it covers a lot!!!!
Will you be doing a book tour? @ashtalksbach
The easy answer is that I really hope to do one. There are some things that make touring difficult. One, we are still in the middle of pandemic and we are often learning new information and developments regarding Covid-19. I want to make sure that when touring I can do it safely for everyone involved. Two, my schedule is unpredictable and hectic. Needless to say, I want to do a tour and do have a few speaking engagements set up after the release of the book so keep an eye out! If you would like for me to attend your city, school, university, organization, etc., please email or message me and let’s try to make something happen. I would love to see you, meet you and talk with you.
Do you think that your life would have turned out this abundant when you signed up for the Bachelor? @nejathuggs
This is an interesting question because it implies that my life was not abundant prior to being on The Bachelor. I really delve into this in the book because I did have so many things that I wanted before reality television. I was living independently and working as an attorney practicing litigation. I had an active social life. My family and friends were in great health. Outwardly my life was abundant but inwardly was is not. I was struggling with identity issues and fear. The show gave me the courage to act on my fear. The show gave me the opportunity to lean into what makes me unique. The show allowed me to bet and trust myself. Having that awareness gave me abundance greater than I could ever image. That inward abundance made me whole.
