With the war going on in Ukraine, are you supporting the people & what they’re fighting for? Thoughts? @oli_gladkova

I am absolutely in full support of Ukraine and its people. I feel that I am not fully equipped with the expertise to do a detailed article on the war, but have used my platforms in various ways. On my podcast, Higher Learning, we’ve had a couple of journalists reporting from Ukraine update and educate our audiences on the current state of the war. Additionally, I have written an opinion-piece on the war and on how we can support those in need. Please see all links below for reference :)

What are your thoughts on Ketanji confirmation hearings? _m_destiny_

I am in full support of The Honorable Ketanji Brown Jackson and think the manner of her hearings have been handled in such a despicable way. Thus highlighting on a national stage the way this country feels about black women. I fully explain my thoughts on the below episode of Higher Learning.

How did you land your hosting job with EXTRA? @bwins1

I love this question because it allows me the chance to talk about hard work, persistence, networking, and taking advantage of every moment and opportunity. I was freelancing in the sports and entertainment space for three years prior to landing the job. I worked jobs in radio, digital, television, and print. I consistently took advantage of every moment to learn, create, and interact with individuals in the business. I said yes to every opportunity. I wanted to demonstrate that I was not relying on my reality television status but wanted to assiduously work to prove I could work in this industry. I remember I was working for MTV’s Ghosted. Those days were grueling as we worked 12 plus hour days and constantly had to keep our energy up for the cameras. I received a call to come to the other side of town to do an interview with Extra regarding the Bachelor. I almost turned down the opportunity because I was so exhausted but thought to myself that this could lead to something. I knew I could not only get exposure on a national show but could network. I said yes and that turned into working a freelancing job with Extra that year. I was living in Miami at the time and this was pre-covid so it was hard to get freelancing work with Extra while living on the other coast, so I moved to LA for one month to show my dedication and interest in the job and the industry. I worked a few gigs for them, never saying no and trying to create moments with the talent I interviewed. The work was sporadic, but I was consistent. When the Super Bowl came to Miami, I contacted the executive producers and reminded them I lived in Miami. I asked if they needed any help with work while they were covering the Super Bowl in the city. Initially, they did not need me but when you stay ready you don’t have to get ready. They called me last minute to cover one interview. That interview turned into another. Then the Extra host was caught up doing another gig and I stepped in to cover for him. Little did I know that that day was my audition for the show. Six months later, I was offered a full-time position and the rest is a part of my story 😊.

The moral of that story is: I was ready for every opportunity, I was persistent. I said yes even when I was tired. I did not allow others to define my role in this space and when the moment called, I answered.

What is your favorite moisturizer? Any beauty routine tips? @cristianyanet

I recently learned the importance of using moisturizers and oils on my skin. They are so necessary for every day and nightly beauty routine. This has been especially important for me because I moved from a humid Miami to a dry Los Angeles. My favorite moisturizers are the following:

  • 1) Glossier Priming Moisturizer

  • 2) Mary Kay Timewise Age-Fighting Moisturizer

  • 3) True Botanicals Pure Radiance Oil

  • 4) Sonya Dakar Nano Hydrator

  • 5) Sonya Dakar Organic Omega Oil
